(save-game: ) Harlowe limitation

Are there any plans to allow save-game to work with games that have "fancy" set: macros? We have several places where by clicking a link the colour of the font changes, showing that a particular answer has been selected, but this disables the save feature.

  • I suggest asking about enhancements to a story format on it's project website, in this case Harlowe issues page.
    It has a better chance of being seen by the developer and allows better tracking of the issue as posts to this forum can disappear into history quickly.

    Huh, not completely clear on the issue, but you might look at the SugarCube format. I had no issues using all kinds of macros, in particular changing text styling by just using the <<replace>> macro. The save feature on there looks like it works regardless of those kinds of changes. I think the changes wouldn't stay on a given passage when reloading unless you set some variables within the passage to determine the changed state of the text.

    We are rather committed to Harlowe (big story already written), so are hoping not to have to change to Sugarcube, but thanks for the thought.
