Unable to get value of the property

I have only just installed Twine, so I am a newbie.
At the school we are trying to use this software for English and ICT groups of students.
I have installed 1.4.2 and created a TWS file (based on the Vimeo video) and all the links look fine. However when I build the html file I get the following error message.
'Sorry to interrupt, but this page's code has got itself in a mess (unable to get value of the property 'identity':object is null or underfined). ou may be able to continue playing, but some parts may not work properly.'
It then displays a blank webpage.
Can anyone help
Thanks

  • What web browser and what version of it are you using? Old versions of IE might not work since too much functionality is broken or missing there.
  • Are you using the final release version? There should be no references to "identity" in the release version of 1.4.2, apart from code accessing the "meta" element.

If not, then you might be able to work around this by creating a StorySettings passage (go to Story -> Special Passages -> StorySettings) and filling it in.
