Adding things to the side bar

This is definitely a question to which the answer is out there somewhere, but I've simply failed to find it, so I'll embarrass myself by asking.  I've seen various twine games adding things like "Status" links, etc. to check on your character, see your inventory, or even use items "on the go" as it were, off next to the "Rewind" "Restart" etc. links on the bar on the left.  Despite my best google fu and scanning through the wiki, I don't know how they do that, and I'd rather like to.

Click on the Story drop-down menu, then Special Passages, then Story Menu.

Aha, thank you very much.  Definitely a case of just not knowing what the term I was looking for was.  I appreciate your assistance.
